Performance Advantage conditioning programs are created from the knowledge and training of our experienced staff. In addition, we utilize the expertise from some of the best conditioning specialists in the country (Mark Verstegen, Mike Boyle, Juan Carlos Santana, Walter Norton, Jr.), as well as some of the best sport specific conditioning coaches in the world to help us make the best conditioning programs possible. Performance Advantage uses the latest in conditioning equipment including sport specific devices.
Performance Advantage conditioning programs are designed for athletes
Programs include:
Youth programs are age appropriate with the understanding that younger children are still growing and need special consideration with jumping and power training. The programs for youth are available as general and sports specific sessions (see Schedule). Youth programs are further classified by different age groups and skill level, so children only work with other children of similar age and/or skill level. Adult programs are designed to help older athletes get in shape for the upcoming sports season, as well as to improve their overall athletic skills. As we get older, the need to get in shape and stay in shape is even more important as our risk of injury increases. Conditioning programs help you achieve both goals allowing you to play with less pain and with less gasping for air.
Sports specific programs incorporate sport specific movement patterns to help the athlete prepare for his/her sport. We utilize sports equipment such as sticks, balls, and gloves, and incorporate sport specific conditioning devices such as Goaler One hockey boards, vertical jumping stations, and ball cords. Sports specific programs are available for:
Boot Camps are offered for athletes who are competing in a different sport the previous season, but want to get ready for the next sport. An example is the soccer player in the fall who plays basketball. Performance Advantage offers a 2 week high intensity conditioning camp between seasons. The camp focuses on sport specific drills while developing the speed, agility, and power skills for the new sport.
Practice enhancement programs are for coaches who want to add an advanced conditioning component to their practices. Performance Advantage staff can come to your field, court, or rink and conduct conditioning classes for your team. We bring the equipment and the expertise.
Pre and post testing. Each athlete performs a series of physical tests at the beginning and at the end of the program. The pre and post testing is serves two purposes:
The physical tests are:
Conditioning sessions are 60 minute or 90 minutes. Each session includes a dynamic warm-up, core training, conditioning drills, sports drills, cool down, stretching. Programs are offered throughout the year (see the schedule of specific dates and times). Programs include:
There is a low athlete to trainer ratio so each athlete receives the attention and instruction necessary to improve. |
